Board Report 8/20/01
1. What's happening in the clinic
this summer
á Currently
seeing 5-8 families/week Ð Ray seeing all families. Jean works with 2-3 of
them.
á Nancy took
summer off, will start a new family in September.
á Not many new
families Ð in July were up to 12/week, several stopped or went on vacation.
Three of families being see are returning after "graduating".
á Four of
current families are single moms.
2. Ray's goals for himself

families he's seeing

á Write a book.
3. Publicity report from Sandra
á SB News Press grant
acknowledgment & highlight in SB Newspress
á Calls from 2
families (neither of whom has come to BEBA) and request to be part of Community
Resources Directory (spot in the CRIS Directory, on the Internet Directory,
referral source on 24 hour help line.
á Sandra has not
yet returned the forms.
4. Report on Clinic Staff
á Tara here
since early July from Spain. Here at least 3 years. Starting as videotaper,
then will become assistant (January), then facilitator when appropriate (a year?)
á SBGI students
Cheriona Menzam, O.T., and Tanis Marble also available to videotape.
á Brita Eeg-Henriksen coming from UK Jan-Sept 2002 to
videotape, then assist
á Both Tara and
Brita are craniosacral therapists.
á Nancy
Greenfield starts SBGI in the fall (3 year program). Wants to do up to one
morning a week with BEBA.
á Jean
Weitensteiner available for families, wants higher pay, will continue with
families she's started with for $30/visit.
5. Financial Report from Sandra.
á Only donations
this year $100 from Christie Barrack, about $300 coming from Dorothy Adler's
donation to Cars for Causes.
á $5000 from
Karuna and $4000 from Szekely Family Foundation went to camcorder, VCR and
operating expenses.
á Several low
income families coming, no longer consistent families paying $150 (there were
2, both finished or about to finish).
á $1868 in bank
if paid Sandra and Jean and $15/session up to present. Have paid ahead for rent
other than $15/session, phone and copies til end of the year ($120/month, total
$500 for Sept-Dec).
á We didn't buy
UPS (computer backup). Have had no blackouts so put as low priority.
á No money for
new computer but still want to earmark $1000 toward database design. Could do
on Castellino computer. Sandra probably won't get to this until 2002.
á Response to
price drop not significant, no overwhelming rush, did allow one single mother
to come and probably a pregnant couple to start soon.
á Families
coming: 4 single moms, 3 are paying 0 or $15/session, one family paying $30,
one paying $37.50, one paying $67.50; 2 coming short term paying $50 and $75. 1
family paying $150 for once a month visit.
6. New Board Members needed
á Julia Swanson,
J.D. (Dorothy asked) cannot join BEBA board.
á Ray to ask
prospective board members.
á Christie wants
to leave BEBA board once we find a replacement. (this is no longer true as of
May, 2003)
á Ray wants to
leave BEBA board, be clinic director only once BEBA has enough other people.
7. SB Treasures Ð to film BEBA
next year, winter or spring, 2002.
8. Brochure Ð Sandra has not had
time to devote to it.
9. Need for Executive Director Ð
Sandra can't do all that's needed.
