BEBA: Report by Sandra Castellino 1/30/03 Ð latest developments

  1. BEBA is expanding
    1. Sandra is turning families with toddlers and older children away. We have taken all pregnant couples & newborns who called. Several of the 'graduate' families are returning for a few sessions.
    2. Facilitators have taken on 3 more families than the 12 slots on Tuesday and Wednesday, so they are seen at the families' homes, or seen at BEBA when regular families take a week off or on additional days.
    3. Jean is working with 3 families (1 with Ray); Nancy with 5, Ray with 8 (1 with Jean), many with Tara. Tara is mostly assisting, now co-facilitating with 2 families. Tara is also assisting Nancy with 3 families.
    4. Nancy and Tara are accumulating hours toward their M.F.T. internship requirements. For this purpose, they are working under the supervision of Cynthia Burnside, M.F.T., paying her privately. Cynthia came to BEBA's January staff supervision meeting to become acquainted with what supervision entails at BEBA. Nancy and Tara continue to work under Raymond Castellino supervision.
  2. Bill & Michelle McDonough have joined our advisory board
  3. Donations since last board meeting:
    1. $2000 from Bill & Michelle McDonough, BEBA parents
    2. $1000 from Pajwell Foundation (family foundation of BEBA dad)
    3. $248 Carol Landsberg, student in SBGI & Castellino Training
  1. Brochure progress:
    1. No changes since December
    2. Myrna Martin reviewed it this morning and made many suggestions.
    3. Sandra to input these suggestions, have Myrna review it and then take it back to the McKinney's for input into Quark.
  1. Annual Report is enclosed
  2. Website progress
    1. We are waiting to see if 'beba.org' is available. Apparently the former user has a grace period in which to renew. Will should know by mid-March.
  1. BEBA intake paperwork and forms
    1. Because Nancy and Tara are M.F.T. interns, they needed to have more rigorous disclosure forms than we have had to date. Nancy has done extensive work on these.
    2. Nancy and Sandra took her forms to an attorney, Barry Sears, who looked at them for free, made a few minor changes and approved them.
    3. Myrna Martin & Wendy McCarty made suggestions. We are doing more research.
